The college baseball regular season is coming to a close, and in case you haven’t been following the season, the Oregon Ducks are in a good position heading into the postseason.
This Ducks team has been well-rounded for most of the year with consistent hitting, solid starting pitching and a strong bullpen. Right fielder Jeffrey Heard and first baseman Jacob Walsh have been Oregon’s best hitters, with Heard leading the Ducks in batting average and Walsh leading the home run category. On the bump, Grayson Grinsell has been the Ducks’ most dominant starting pitcher, with a 4.21 ERA and .190 opponents batting average on the season.
Oregon is one of three Pac-12 teams ranked in the NCAA’s top 25, putting it in a good position for the conference tournament, which begins next week. Ahead of the Ducks in the top 25, are the Oregon State Beavers and the Arizona Wildcats, so they’ll be teams to watch in the postseason.
